===Plans for Borehamwood Survivor Sightings Page===
==Plans for Borehamwood Survivor Sightings Page==
I recently realized that by creating a Group Subpage for survivor sightings in every suburb in Borehamwood I may have erred (to put it mildly). I was planning on creating another Group Subpage for the Indian/Pakistani Leftovers News Archives, in which I planned to place all news entries prior to January to keep the main Group page under 30,000 bytes (I noticed the warning on many pages that states some browsers may have trouble reading pages longer than that) and I wanted to make sure I was following the correct organizational structure and procedures since I've already been corrected once by Janus Abernathy, who kindly moved the Sightings pages into the Group Subpages category, when I noticed that in the Category:Group Subpages info it says "If a group has over three (3) sub pages make a category for that group and place their pages within it and remove the Category:Group Subpages from them". Now I'm a little unsure of myself, but I'm thinking that the organizational structure laid out after this rambling explanation might be the way to go, which would consolidate all the Survivor Sightings pages into one, meaning that I would then have (I think) just 3 Group Subpages for the Indian/Pakistani Leftovers (not including the discussion page, does that one count too?), being the Survivor Sightings page, the Infection Tag List and the News Archive, with the old Survivor Sightings pages recommended for deletion.   On the other hand, if I were to eventually want to make the Headshotter List a subpage as well, that would again put me over the maximum number of subpages, so it might be better just to create a category page, though I haven't followed through enough to figure out what that would entail or how to do it properly.  And I'm not sure if it's okay to move old comments left by other users on my subpages to the a new page, or if protocol requires that I request someone else do that for me. In short, I'm a bit confused and could use a hand sorting things out organizationally.  Any assistance would be appreciated. --[[User:Necrofeelinya|Necrofeelinya]] 19:37, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Plans carried out, mostly.  Just a little more to go.

===If I'm reading this correctly...===
*There is no upper limit to how many (sub)pages your group can have, but plenty of empty ones will usually get deleted. It's just wiki precedent
*Yes, you will need a group category. Just add {{CodeInline|<nowiki>[[Category:Indian/Pakistani Leftovers]]</nowiki>}} to all your group pages, and add that category to {{CodeInline|<nowiki>[[Category:Group Subpages]]</nowiki>}}
*Your pages where probably deleted (if I remember correctly) because they had no content. One big page for all of Borehamwood sounds like a far better idea.

Is that all? Sorry if I missed something, there's a lot of text there :). {{User:Linkthewindow/Sig}} 02:27, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

:Thanks Ross, and by the way, I like this idea of yours very much.  After all, if we can present Kevan with a brand-new city built from scratch, maybe he'll implement it, and even if he doesn't, it's kind of fun just creating one.--[[User:Necrofeelinya|Necrofeelinya]] 21:14, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

:::I'd started with the Gulfpratt concept, based on a real town. That's part of why nearly all the buildings look alike and there are no TRPs.  Another reason is that I think survivors have it way too easy and they don't need or deserve the number of TRPs they have in the game.  What's been going on in Borehamwood is more than enough proof of that.  But I've largely abandoned the Gulfpratt concept in favor of designing a larger, more interesting town from scratch.  I won't start putting it up yet, I think I prefer to design it on paper first.  And of course, who knows when or if I'll finish.  But it will also be low on TRPs, have a height for each building which restricts free running, and use named or numbered streets that help both zombies and harmans navigate without GPS.  If I plan on following through with this, I want it to be pretty unusual.--[[User:Necrofeelinya|Necrofeelinya]] 05:32, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to the Borehamwood Survivor Tracking Page! Please put all new sighting reports at the top of each respective suburb's list and don't forget to sign your entries. We need those time stamps to know if the info is current. Happy hunting!
An [http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php?title=The_Israel_Building_(Borehamwood)&diff=1611795&oldid=1395542 edit] you made could be considered vandalism, but I wouldn't worry about it. You'll probably get a soft warning about it since it's minor. You aren't supposed to mess with the minimap, or the very top NPOV name of the building. That confuses some newer wiki users who don't know you're joking. So, just remember that for future reference :) --{{User:Haliman111/sig}} 23:34, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Its up to you on the border. Having a border (whatever its made of) saves you creating almost 400 squares of terrain. But anything impassable works. Im thinking about having a maze like in the shining, with hedge squares. Same as border squares, but just called hedge. Do i think feeding you random barricaded locations was poor form? No not really. I showed you areas of low repair/repaired buildings that other zombies could keep an eye over while the pack goes killing. Regardless of current tactics the survivor number is always going to go down.

Plans for Borehamwood Survivor Sightings Page

Plans carried out, mostly. Just a little more to go.

If I'm reading this correctly...

  • There is no upper limit to how many (sub)pages your group can have, but plenty of empty ones will usually get deleted. It's just wiki precedent
  • Yes, you will need a group category. Just add [[Category:Indian/Pakistani Leftovers]] to all your group pages, and add that category to [[Category:Group Subpages]]
  • Your pages where probably deleted (if I remember correctly) because they had no content. One big page for all of Borehamwood sounds like a far better idea.

I'd started with the Gulfpratt concept, based on a real town. That's part of why nearly all the buildings look alike and there are no TRPs. Another reason is that I think survivors have it way too easy and they don't need or deserve the number of TRPs they have in the game.
