20071031 Zombie Stash

Karloth Vois RR 16:12, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Suggestion type
Flavour for Zombie Ruins

Suggestion scope
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb, are closing in to seal your doom.

When a zombie kills a survivor, they get a tasty little trophy.

Inspired by a death scene ("You maul HVLD for 3 damage, and grab hold of their set of blood-flecked grey dog-tags. They die." - HVLD was wearing tags) I thought it would be pretty decent if zombies could decorate their ruined buildings with these kill items- the zombie gets them like an traditional survivor decorative item to place in a ruined building. The items wouldn't be taken from the survivor and all decorations would be removed when a ruined building is fixed.

If you're not too keen on the whole zombie choosing the location thing, consider that they essentially scatter the survivor's items- it's just wreckage- but limiting it to an automatic decoration on a survivor death would take away from the gameplay.

If a survivor isn't wearing any distinctive items, it can always be extended to things like teeth, limbs, organs...

  16. Keep/change - It's a nice idea but i honestly don't see how a FAk could heal a ripped off limb. Thus i suggest you only keep it to clothing. Acoustic Pie 21:38, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  30. Keep – I'm sure we've all thought of starting a collection after the nth "grab hold of their set of grey dog-tags" message. This takes it one step further and adds a slightly gruesome touch. Nice work! ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 21:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill/Change - Only if it stayed in their inv. Decorating is out of character. Sockem 19:28, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  2. Kill - As above. Also, don't include options in your suggestion. Either include limbs/organs, or do not include them. Don't make us guess or choose for you. --Steakfish 23:18, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Re That's there in the case of survivors not having specific items. Limbs/ organs are included. --Karloth Vois RR 13:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Kill - Zombies are not interiour decorators. --Pgunn 23:30, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  4. Weak Kill However i admit this WOULD add a bit of flavor, it has absolutely no use and would barely be seen (buildings caded' up all the time). Besides, it's a bit out of character for a Zombie, don't you think?--Erutan 23:45, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Re: It would be seen in places like Ridleybank. Contrary to what most people think, zombies do deserve flavourful options. --Karloth Vois RR 13:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Kill - Out-of-genre, zombies don't collect trophies. --Sonofagun18 05:02, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. And what happens if a zombie with one of these pieces of "decoration" gets revived? Do they just disappear or do they keep them? Is there any encumbrance value or can a zombie stack up a huge amount of these items in their inventory? - Whitehouse 14:19, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Re:They would remain in the survivor's inventory, but with no useable options other than drop. Encumberance of a reasonable amount- nothing too heavy (forcing zombies to stop + drop every time they killed a survivor) but nothing too light. --Karloth Vois RR 13:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Zombies collect Van Goghs, not Van Gogh's ear... Well, the modernist ones, anyway. --WanYao 22:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Bloody Murder How would these Items be removed? Would the Flavor Text at the top of an external area be 5000 items long because of the carnage there? Also, why would a Zombie CARE about stuff he took off the survivor (unless, maybe, it is his/her skin or organs, obviously). ~A`Blue`JellyTME*V*I*L*? 02:17, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Re:It would work the same way as current decorations, in that they can only be placed inside and theres a reasonable limit. "all decorations would be removed when a ruined building is fixed." --Karloth Vois RR 13:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
  9. Change Nearly voted keep when I saw it stayed in the ex-survivor's inv (sorry, no dice karek), but I don't want a bunch of spam when I walk into a trashed building. Give the items an expiration time, risk of being destroyed/lost if the building is ransacked/ruined, then I'd be OK with it. Slightly Lions 10:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Re:"all decorations would be removed when a ruined building is fixed." -If a survivor repairs the ruin, it's automatically gone. --Karloth Vois RR 13:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Yes, I read that. What I'm saying is that, should a trophy be dropped prior to ransack/ruin, there should be a small chance it's lost in the rubbish when everything gets smashed and wrecked. Perhaps it's not likely a zombie player would be so foolish, but I'd prefer if it were there. Also, I had a new idea: For a lot of gore/ripped clothing items, have messages like "You see much gore and many body parts/shredded clothing strewn about, including one/a few/some/numerous limbs/ears/eyes/tongues/clothing items", up to 3 different body parts and clothing items, to minimize spam while still communicating something nasty went down. Eh? --Slightly Lions 15:36, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
    • (Too many replies, I know) Oooh, I like that. The items can't be lost in the ransack- they can only be placed in already ruined buildings. Though, extending it to normal buildings with the likelyhood of them being crushed/ eaten on ransack sounds good to me too. --Karloth Vois RR 15:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
